The Watusi

The Ankole-Watusi is a modern American breed of domestic cattle. It derives from the Ankole group of Sanga cattle breeds of east and central Africa.  The Watusi cattle are known worldwide as having the most magnificent horns of any longhorn breed of domestic cattle. They are a highly adaptable, drought-resistant breed from East Africa that produces excellent milk quality with a high-fat percentage..

The Aberdeen Angus

The Aberdeen Angus breed (or Angus as it is known internationally) was developed in the early part of the 19th Century from the polled and predominantly black cattle of Northeast Scotland known locally as “doddies” and “hummlies”. As with other breeds of cattle and sheep in Britain, establishment followed improvements in husbandry and transport. The earliest families trace back to the middle of the eighteenth century, but it was much later that the Herd Book (1862) and the Society (1879) were founded.

The Jersey

The Jersey is a British breed of small dairy cattle from Jersey, in the British Channel Islands. It is one of three Channel Island cattle breeds, the others being the Alderney – now extinct – and the Guernsey. The milk is high in butterfat and has a characteristic yellowish tinge.

The Jersey adapts well to various climates and environments, and unlike many breeds originating in temperate climates, these cows can tolerate heat very well. It has been exported to many countries of the world; in some of them, including Denmark, France, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States, it has developed into an independent breed.
